THE HONEST PAGE

Things People Get Wrong

A new ministry without official nonprofit status yet is going to raise questions. Here are direct answers to the ones we expect.

What people assume

"This isn't a real nonprofit yet, so it's not legitimate."

What's actually true

We're upfront about where we are. Living Waters Pakistan is actively becoming a Texas 501(c)(3). Until that's complete, we use a temporary GoFundMe and we say so clearly, because we'd rather be honest about the process than pretend we're further along than we are.

What people assume

"My donation isn't tax deductible, so it doesn't really help."

What's actually true

It still goes directly to the work. Tax deductibility will apply once our nonprofit status is confirmed, and we'll notify past supporters when that happens.

What people assume

"There's no way to verify any of this actually happened."

What's actually true

Randy has documented the early work with photos and receipts from Brick Kiln 1, Brick Kiln 2, and Kasur City. You can see that documentation on the Early Work page rather than just a claim.

What people assume

"This is just about Randy, not an organized effort."

What's actually true

It started with one person's commitment, but it's built to grow into something bigger and more accountable, with clear reporting as it develops.
